the project
Moondance Film Festival is a celebration of new film and of people, first and foremost. The road to success in the industry is often an abstract one. Playing off that idea and the festival’s already existing name, I created an identity that centered around abstractions created using shapes from moon phases and nodes to films. The new logo was designed to be more easily applicable to different materials compared to the previous and uses the same sort of language as the abstractions. Though the festival has had some coverage in the past, their desire is to get bigger. With that in mind I created more of the collateral it needed to feel like a big film festival that you'll see here.
